I learned that if at first you don’t get the answer you want, just wait a little longer. Here’s the conversation I had with the gas company about running a gas line for our new cooktop:
Me: I would like to have a gas line installed on Friday, please.
Dispatcher: Hmmm…Friday isn’t looking too good.
Me: I could also do Thursday.
Dispatcher: Thursday isn’t good either. What about Monday?
Me: I would really like to get this hooked up by end of day Friday so I can cook over the weekend.
Dispatcher: Well, Thursday and Friday really aren’t looking good.
Me: *silence*
Dispatcher: Hmmm….well….
Me: *silence*
Dispatcher: There’s a chance we could do it on Friday.
Me: *silence*
Dispatcher: You know, I think we could definitely do it Friday afternoon.
Me: Thank you sir, you have been so helpful.
Ha! I win.



That is awesome! I totally need to try that the next time I call my cable company!!
